Friday memes: Three Day Summer by Sarvenaz Tash

Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader and Friday 56 is hosted by Freda's Voice.

Three Day Summer by Sarvenaz Tash. 286 p. Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers, May19, 2015. 9781481443135.

Publisher synopsis: In this summer romance, two teens find unexpected harmony amid the crowd at a legendary music festival.
Michael is unsure about most things. Go to college? Enlist in the military? Break up with his girlfriend? All big question marks. He is living for the moment, and all he wants is a few days at the biggest concert of the summer.
Cora lives in the town hosting the music festival. She’s volunteering in the medical tent. She’s like that, always the good girl. But there is something in the air at this concert, and suddenly Cora finds herself wanting to push her own boundaries.
When Michael and Cora meet, sparks fly, hearts race, and all the things songs are written about come true. And they’ve got three days of the most epic summer ahead of them…

First Line: (Cora) "You. Are. A. Candy. Cane."

Page 56: (Michael) Two enormous brown eyes are staring into mine. Thick lashes frame them. The look like feathers. WAit, no. They are feathers. And now they are multiplying. There were two, now four. Only this bird is red and white, with thin stripes like rivulets of deep red blood going through every feather.
Her plumage is fanning out, so many eyes and rivers. It's impossible for it to be contained.
"Tell me about your family, Michael."
Oh my God. She knows my name. This beautiful, rare bird is talking to me.

I am participating in a Blog Tour for this book. Look for my review on May 20.

  1. I like the first line, though it doesn't tell me much...

The second quote did manage to get me a bit.

Interested to hear what you think of it.

  2. Thanks for stopping by! I agree about the first line! I guess the actual first line is You. hahaha! I did think about adding a bit more. Oh well.

  3. Given my age, I immediately thought of Woodstock when I read the synopsis. So that makes the 56 excerpt make me think of a drug-induced state (LSD?) I'm probably totally off base, right? Regardless, this sounds like a fun book.
My Friday post features MIDDLE-AGED CRAZY.

  4. Woodstock came to mind for me too, Sandra. LOL!!

    A Three-Day Summer wouldn't be fun. I like a three-month summer. :)

    ENJOY!!
