Taking Stock: First Quarter of 2020

I used to do monthly "Taking Stock" posts. For some reason, at the end of January, I decided not to. Then, Blogger went and lost the draft of my 2020 reading. Twice. I remembered the last time this happened, I just reconstructed the draft using my "Taking Stock" posts. This time, I had to totally recreate it from my GR challenge page. Not fun.

And so, I will return to posting "Taking Stock" but quarterly as opposed to monthly.

So far, I am woefully behind in my GR yearly goal. Sixteen books as of today, I believe. In March two things happened to cut into my reading. The end of trimester two and the need to grade and report those grades and the quarantine and virtual teaching. My lessons for trimester three were planned but needed tweaking for virtual teaching. We're three weeks in and I'm feeling more sure. Hopefully, I will pick up the pace in April. Next week is our spring break, so I have plans to ramp up the reading. Perhaps, I will make a dent in Mount TBR. I certainly have enough reading material.

This morning, I sifted through the mountain to create Spine Poems as examples for my Fifth Grade Fun Friday activity.

Here's the list of books I've read so far this year. Favorites have an *:
