#tbt features The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. The Graveyard Book features one of the more memorable first lines in children's literature, "There was a hand in the darkness, and it held a knife," and is accompanied by a frightening illustration. Thus begins Nobody Owens' tale. His entire family is murdered; but Bod escapes and wanders into the graveyard, where he is fostered by the spirits that reside there. Atmospheric and suspenseful, The Graveyard Book won a Newbery Medal as well as the Hugo Award. In 2016, Gaiman adapted his book into graphic novel format in two volumes.
